Daniel Cormier thanks the UFC for supporting Ben Askren
Cormier took the night off commentary duty and instead watched UFC Atlanta at home on Saturday.
‘DC’ videoed his TV when the broadcast was interrupted to send well wishes to the Askren family.
“Ben Askren is currently in a serious battle in a Wisconsin hospital after developing severe pneumonia ” UFC commentator Brandon Fitzgerald said. “His wife Amy posted about Ben’s health earlier this week, asking everyone to continue sending prayers and support.

The MMA community has rallied around the Askren family, urging prayers for Amy and their three children. We here at the UFC certainly join in sending all our support to Ben, his wife Amy, and their kids as they stay strong through this difficult fight.
Paul Felder added: “All our and best wishes are out to his wife and kids. We’re just hoping that he absolutely pulls through and makes a recovery.”
Cormier captioned his post: “Thank you @ufc. @benaskren we all love you buddy. Amy we’re all praying for you guys daily!”
Ben Askren’s wife overwhelmed by support
On Monday evening, the mother of Askren’s three children posted a statement on social media.
“Feeling so incredibly thankful for our friends and community,” Amy wrote in a Facebook post shared to her Instagram story. “It’s times like this that remind you how truly blessed you are.
“I feel God moving through the love and support we have received. I’m sorry if I haven’t had the chance to respond to you, but know I’ve seen your messages, and each one has meant so much to me.
“Please keep praying for Ben.”
