Jason Statham’s $704 Million Hit With ‘Reacher’s Alan Ritchson Is Climbing Global Streaming Charts

Alan Ritchson lit the world on fire earlier this year with his performance in Reacher, but a few years ago, the action star led a blockbuster thriller that’s returned to streaming charts. Ritchson features alongside Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, and Jason Statham in Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, following Hernan Reyes (Momoa), who targets Dom Toretto (Diesel) and his family. Fast X is streaming on Starz in the U.S., and it’s available to purchase via iTunes in most international territories. The film is charting globally, entering the top 10 in several countries, including Hong Kong, Mozambique, Ghana, and more. Fast X earned a “rotten” 56% from critics and an 84% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $704 million at the box office against a $340 million budget, narrowly crossing its break-even point.

If you didn’t know Fast X was the tenth movie in a highly successful franchise that had been running for over 20 years, one look at the call sheet would be staggering. In addition to Ritchson, Statham, Diesel, Larson, and Momoa, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster returned in Fast X to reprise their roles as Letty and Mia. Tyrese Gibson and Lucacris were also back for another bout as Roman and Tej, with Game of Thrones veteran Nathalie Emmanuel starring alongside the returning Oscar-winner Charlize Theron. John Cena can even be seen as Dom’s brother Jakob in the film, with Sung Kang, Helen Mirren, and Scott Eastwood also starring. Dwayne Johnson also returned in the Fast X post-credit scene as Luke Hobbs.

Two Franchise Veterans Are Stepping Up for ‘Fast X: Part 2’

Jason Statham’s role in Fast X was small, but it teased that Deckard Shaw is coming back in for an important part in the sequel, Fast X: Part 2. The aforementioned post-credit scene also confirmed that Johnson’s Luke Hobbs will return to a regular role in the final franchise installment, and this will be the first time the two have teamed up since The Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. There were whispers of a Hobbs & Shaw sequel for a while, but updates on the project have been few and far between for the last few months.

Fast X is one of the most popular movies in the world on Starz. Stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates and coverage of all Statham and Ritchson’s future projects.
