Lainey Wilson reveals that wedding to ex-Steelers star will have a shocking twist

Few artists in country music are more popular than Lainey Wilson at the moment so try as she might to avoid it, her relationship with ex-Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges has become a public thing.

People are captivated by the couple, and their engagement in February has the country music world talking.

They are currently making plans for the wedding, and Wilson recently made an admission about a twist she is planning for the ceremony that might shock some folks. Wilson and Hodges are both country to the bone. It’s easy to see following them on social media, and … well, they got engaged at the mansion of the late George Jones, folks.

They are country.

But the wedding itself won’t have a very country vibe if Wilson has her way.

Instead of country music, they are reportedly planning to go more of the jazz music route with entertainment. Wilson made the revelation during a recent interview with Taste of Country.

Wilson opened up in April about getting engaged at Jones’ estate in February.

“So, I had talked myself into thinking he was going to do it that day,” she said. “And then I called my sister, and I said, ‘I think he’s going to propose to me today.’

“And then I talked myself out of it because I thought, ‘Man, I sure would be upset if I talked myself into this and that don’t happen,‘” she added. “But, we had been wanting to go see the George Jones estate for quite some time, and his buddy had it listed for sale. And, we were at the Super Bowl the week before, and he was like, ‘Hey, we need to go next week to see the George Jones estate. That way we can just say we’ve been to the George Jones estate.’

“As we pull up, I realize there were different plans,” Wilson said. “He had it all set up. He had the candles and the picture frames, and it could not have been more perfect. And we haven’t even started planning. We need to really sit down and make that a priority, but I’m sure it will be something that is just very simple.”
