Indiana Fever Announce Final Decision on Caitlin Clark After Injury

The future of Caitlin Clark has been in question as of late, not because she isn’t an incredibly talented player but because of a recent injury that’s kept her off the court. Clark has been sidelined for about a month now, following a serious injury that needed medical attention.

Clark suffered a left quad strain during the Indiana Fever’s game against the New York Liberty on May 24. An MRI confirmed the strain after she said that she felt some pain after the Liberty matchup.

The WNBA would surely like to see her back in action, because viewership has gone down since she’s been sidelined. Nationally televised WNBA games are down 55% since Clark’s sustained injury, according to Nielsen, and nationally televised Fever games are down 53% since the injury. That makes for a big loss.

So, when will Clark be allowed to return to the court? Well, on June 13, the Fever took to X to announce the news that Clark will officially be back on the court for the team’s game June 14 against the New York Liberty. It’s fitting that her first game back is up against them again.

“She’s back,” the post stated with a fire emoji. “Caitlin Clark is ready to play tomorrow against New York.”

Followers were happy with the news, but cautiously optimistic. “Please tell us a 100% because I need the star down the stretch…want to make sure CC is good for the long haul,” one stated. “Ladies and gentlemen, the world’s most valuable player is back and we are about to cook everyone,” another stated. “That’s going to be a very fast paced game… Perhaps not the best option for someone coming back from an injury, imo,” one more commented.

So, Clark will be back, and the world will be watching. Let’s hope that’s the only injury she gets this season.
