The social media influencer, 29, opened up about her relationship status during her guest appearance on the Boy Problems podcast, hosted by Liz Plank, amid ongoing romance rumors with B.J. Novak.

“I’m not like, you know the cuffs aren’t on, like I’m not like fully boo’ed up, but like, I am dating and it’s going okay,” Rowe, who never explicitly named names, said in the episode released on Wednesday, June 11.

“I was the problem,” she began to explain. “And I had to sort of reconcile with that recently. I was not sure and so I was sort of noncommittal for a long period of time when he was like very sure. And so now I am sure and he’s like, ‘I don’t really trust your intentions at this point.'”

“And so now, I’ve sort of had to, you know, rap for my motherf—— life on this one and prove that I’m like —” she said with Plank jumping in to ask, “Trustworthy?”

“Yeah,” the content creator said, before explaining, “Not that there was any… there was no bad behavior. It was just me not quite ready and now I am. And so now I have to be like, you know, kind of bare my heart a little bit.”

Recently, Rowe — who’s risen to fame for her self-produced comedy sketches since first uploading them on social media in 2020 — was romantically linked to B.J. Novak in April, however, neither of the actors have publicly commented on it.

Rowe opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about her dating life in May, and shed light on how her comedic sketches online are often inspired from her own romantic experiences.

“Oh my God, of course,” she said of whether her real-life experiences ever make their way into her skits.

While Rowe is famously known for her “insufferable female lead” characters, her “highly unrealistic male-female friendship in every romantic comedy” is also among her most talked about portrayals on her page.

“It’s so funny because the guy that I do that video with, he is my dear friend,” Rowe said in reference to her pal Jake Musser. “And so it’s like sometimes we’re like, we are pulling sometimes our little dynamics and mannerisms into the video.”

“And the comments, whenever I have a man in my videos, it’s like, ‘The chemistry! Date already!'” she continued. “I’m like, ‘No, we really are just acting and we really just love this,’ but I think people want it to be real, which is all you want. Of course, that’s great!”

However, Rowe prefaced there is a distinction between the person people see on their screens and how she really presents herself in real life. She recalled a specific interaction she had with a guy on a first date — that didn’t necessarily earn him a second.

“I will say I’ve gone on a date where I had a guy sort of be like, ‘Wait, can you do that girl right now?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, buddy, no,'” she shared, adding, “We’re not going on a date again.”

“I’m acting in these videos and I think people sometimes forget that,” she explained. “They see a normal interview of me and they comment, ‘Oh wow, she really is insufferable.’ I’m like, that’s just an easy joke to make… just, come on.”
