Sharon Osbourne Makes Unexpected Change to Black Sabbath Final Concert Lineup

Sharon Osbourne revealed she was forced to remove a band from the lineup of Black Sabbath’s long-awaited Back to the Beginning concert next month. In an interview with Metal Hammer, the wife of Ozzy Osbourne, who manages the rock legend’s career, explained that she got into a dispute with the manager of one of the bands that had been previously announced for the show.

“I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy and Sabbath,” Osbourne told the outlet. “And it was probably the worst way I’ve felt in years. And I don’t care what this person says about me, thinks about it, because he doesn’t know me. And he’s now going around making up bulls— lies because I threw his band off the bill.”

Osbourne quickly shut down speculation that the band she kicked off was Iron Maiden, despite her past criticism of lead singer Bruce Dickinson. As recently as 2022, Osbourne described Dickinson as a “f—ing a–hole” in an interview with Consequence that rehashed his disrepectful behavior at Ozzfest two decades ago.

The Back to the Beginning concert is set for July 5 at Villa Park, Birmingham, England. Ozzy Osbourne will reunite with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for the final performance of his career.

A flyer for the farewell show teases the addition of Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon to the lineup. There’s also a long list of solo performers scheduled for the event. Tool and Rival Sons were listed on a previous flyer posted to Reddit.

While she stayed mum on the booted band’s identity, Osbourne, whose father, Don Arden, was the longtime manager for Black Sabbath, told Metal Hammer that the biggest thing she learned from her dad was, “you’ve got to fight…that you can’t let people take advantage of you. “

“My father was extremely confrontational,” she added. “Sometimes he took it too far.”
