The ability to reach the company by phone represents an improvement since Erie Insurance announced over the weekend that it was dealing with a network computer outage that was affecting all systems.
Not all functions can be accessed
But the company, which has nearly 7 million insurance policies in force, continued June 9 to face limitations without the benefit of a computer system.

According to Matthew Cummings, a spokesman for the company, customers are still unable to access billing and payments through customer care.
The company’s website, only a portion of which is functioning, says “All available resources are working to restore access as soon as possible.”
Cummings declined to speculate about the nature of the problem or what caused it.
Erie Indemnity stock, which was down 1.7% for the day at 3 p.m., had been off as much as 5% earlier in the day, though there is no way to know if that decline was linked to computer’s cybersecurity issues.
The company, which had revenues of $13.2 billion in 2024, employs about 6,700 people.
