WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque was coy on Saturday about the circumstances surrounding R-Truth’s appearance.
** Levesque started his presser by saying Los Angeles was a very special place and that it had been a great day for everyone in the company. He said that Worlds Collide was “incredible” and paid tribute to the team at AAA.
** Levesque mentioned that the all-time arena gate, previously set at the Intuit Dome, had been beaten at the same venue on Saturday, just a few months later. He said 17,374 fans had attended.

** He said that John Cena had earned the right to do his retirement run exactly as he wanted.
After promoting upcoming shows, he took some questions.
He was asked the following question about the R-Truth situation by Jordan Mendoza from USA Today: “I wanted to know exactly, was he actually released or leaving the company? And if so, how much did fans play a role in it? Or was there something else that made you guys decide, like, you know what, we want this guy still here?”
Levesque simply responded: “I love the question. You enjoying the show? All part of the show, man.”

He said he had wanted to put on Evolution 2 for a long time and was “thrilled” to be doing it again.
Other performers appeared earlier in the post-show.
Becky Lynch
** New Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch was first to appear in the press suite. Fully in character, she insisted the media members stand to “show respect” before answering questions.
When asked about her break from the company, she said it was “amazing” because she got to take a break from the opinions of the fans. Again, the answer was entirely in character.
She also said she “had a problem” with the fact that her daughter wanted Naomi to win the women’s MITB ladder match and that she wasn’t afraid of her.
Naomi
** Naomi then appeared with Big E, Peter Rosenberg and Vic Joseph in front of fans. She wept as Big E paid tribute to her, saying she was having her best run right now. But, as the crowd chanted “You deserve it,” she told the fans to shut up.
She said she returned to WWE from TNA with a new attitude and had been focused on a return to the top of the card. She laughed off Becky Lynch’s comments and said that nobody with gold in the women’s division was safe.
Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso
** Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso then joined the outdoor panel. Vic Joseph asked them about R-Truth’s return.
Cody said that the fans wanted Truth and that it was everyone’s job from Triple H to Nick Khan to give the fans what they want.
Turning to Jey Uso’s title defense against Gunther on Raw, Uso said he was banged up but would “get with it.” Cody said Gunther didn’t stand a chance.
Cody was asked what it was like to pin John Cena. He acknowledged he was “swimming upstream” being Cena’s opponent during his final run but wanted to be in that spot.
Cody “confessed” that he and Jey Uso were drunk at their press conference appearance after Fastlane 2023.
