The former swimmer, 25, revealed she and husband Louis Barker are expecting their first baby, a girl, during an event on Saturday, June 14 — and she included a direct dig at Simone Biles amid their feud.
She shared the news after recounting the moment she first learned that Biles, 28, had called her out online earlier this month. (The gymnast said Gaines was “truly sick” after she made anti-transgender comments.) Referred to one of the X posts that Biles directed at her, the mom-to-be told the crowd, “I think the funniest thing about this to me, and her saying, ‘Bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a man’ … How many men do you know that have this?”
At that point, Gaines revealed her baby bump, drawing cheers from the crowd.

“Surprise! We’re 26 weeks pregnant!” the expectant mom wrote in her caption. “God is SO good all the time.”
The Gaines for Girls podcast host also shared news coverage of the announcement in an X post, writing, “There’s something so special and providential about having a little girl.”
“She’s everything I’ve been fighting for & the little girl we’ve prayed over for years 🩷 praise God,” Gaines added.
Gaines’ pregnancy announcement comes shortly after she and Biles first made headlines for their social media feud.
The exchange was sparked by Gaines’ comment on a post from the Minnesota State High School League, which celebrated its first softball state championship win.
In response, the conservative activist wrote that the win is “to be expected when your star player is a boy,” referring to pitcher Marissa Rothenberger, a transgender woman on the team who helped secure the victory.

Reacting to the anti-trans post, Biles wrote, “@Riley_Gaines_ You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!!”
“But instead… You bully them…,” Biles continued. “One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!”
In a separate post on X — which Gaines later referred to while announcing her pregnancy — the gymnast added, “Bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male.”
