Eric Dane Talks Secretive Production, Jacob Elordi Friendship

Grey’s Anatomy vet Eric Dane has shared an update regarding the Euphoria Season 3, which is currently still in production. The coming-of-age drama is slated to make its return sometime in 2026.

Euphoria is created and written by Sam Levinson, who is also executive producing with Zendaya and Drake. It is based on an Israeli miniseries of the same name. Season 3 will feature the return of Zendaya as Rue, Hunter Schafer as Jules, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Maude Apatow as Lexi, Dominic Fike as Elliot, Eric Dane as Cal, Colman Domingo as Ali, Martha Kelly as Laurie, and Chloe Cherry as Faye. The next installment is expected to open with a major time jump, which brings the main characters out of the show’s original high school setting.

What did Eric Dane say about Euphoria Season 3?

During a recent interview with Variety, Dane was asked to tease his return as Cal Jacobs in Euphoria Season 3. The veteran TV actor admitted that he doesn’t actually know anything because of how secretive the creative team are. He revealed that the cast doesn’t really get the scripts early, but that’s fine with him because he trusts Levinson’s vision.

“Listen, I don’t know anything. I haven’t seen a script. We get pages maybe a day or two before, but it’s all kept on the D.L,” Dane said. “I just have so much trust in Sam Levinson that I don’t really need to know what’s happening. On the day, he can just tell me what to do and where to go, and I’m good with it.”

In addition, he also opened up about his friendship with onscreen son Jacob Elordi, who plays the role of Nate Jacobs. Dane is happy that Elordi remained humble along with the rest of the show’s young famous cast.

“I was just hoping that none of them had an attitude,” He shared. “That’s very easy to get when your Instagram following goes from 30,000 to 30 million overnight. But I’m happy to report that everybody’s got a good head on their shoulders. They were professional, and still are. I love Jacob, I love Z.”

Dane continued, “I work with Jacob a lot; we have profound conversations when we’re not shooting. He’s a smart, bright, intuitive actor. You can apply that across the board with this cast. Sam had a very specific idea of what he wanted, and he went out and got it. I’ve got a pretty good radar when it comes to people that are going to turn into absolute assholes. I just knew with [Jacob] that he was going to be a straight-shooter, level-headed. He’s maintained that.
