Performances were suspended around 1 p.m. while severe weather moved through the area. Festival officials evacuated Centeroo, the main festival grounds, and attendees were asked to shelter in their vehicles.
Officials sent an update at about 2 p.m. that weather was expected to continue for the next couple of hours.
“Centeroo and the tolls are closed until the weather has passed. Please remain in a vehicle,” officials said in a post on X. On the giant video screens near stages, the festival flashed weather warnings.

Will weather impact the rest of Bonnaroo?
There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms every day of the festival.
The National Weather Service warned that unsettled weather will continue into the weekend keeping thunderstorms in the forecast for the afternoons and evenings. While temperatures will be lower, it will remain very humid, the weather service said.
Festival officials have been preparing for the threat of severe weather.
“We’re gonna have some weather, as we do in Middle Tennessee,” Ken Weinstein, spokesperson for the festival said June 13. “It’s gonna come and there is nothing we can do about it.”
