The 28 Years Later star marked his special day on Friday, June 13, and Sam celebrated by sharing photos on Instagram of her POV seeing Aaron across the table when they play cards together on game nights.
“Happy Birthday Mon Amour,” wrote Sam, 58, in the caption along with heart emojis. “Je t’aime.”
For Sam’s birthday in March, Aaron shared snapshots from their romantic travels together and wrote to the Fifty Shades of Grey director on Instagram, “Happy Birthday gorgeous! Love spending every moment with you.”

Sam and Aaron share daughters Romy, 13, and Wylda, 14, plus daughters Angelica and Jessie from Sam’s previous relationship with ex-husband Jay Jopling.
The couple married in 2012 after Aaron starred in Sam’s 2009 directorial debut Nowhere Boy. They later had a vow renewal in June 2022 in honor of their 10-year wedding anniversary.

When he commemorated their vow renewal as the “most beautiful day” at the time, Aaron called Sam “my love, my life, my soulmate, my wife, my world.”
“We renewed our vows to one another and confessed our love in front of our nearest and dearest friends and family it was a celebration of love and joy! A decade of marriage,” he shared on Instagram. “It was a magical unforgettable day and the sun did not stop shining on us both.. we are blessed beyond belief.”
In a 2023 Esquire interview, Aaron briefly spoke about his personal life and said his relationship with Sam goes beyond a creative partnership.
“Yeah, we worked— I met Sam as actor and director. I think we’re really great at collaborating. But that’s not why I fell in love with her,” he said, also adding that he knew from an early age that he wanted to become a parent: “I was going to have a big family. I knew I was going to be a young father. I knew I was going to have many kids.”
Aaron also said in that interview, “I enjoy the normality of things, the everyday stuff. Getting my kids ready in the mornings, taking them to school and activities — that’s plenty. That feeds my soul.”
