The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) reveals heart procedure in April

The Undertaker (Mark Calaway) underwent a heart procedure right after WrestleMania Weekend in April.

In a new episode of his podcast, Six Feet Under, with new co-host Michelle McCool, the couple shared details of Calaway’s heart issues, which served as an overriding concern for McCool over WrestleMania Weekend.

McCool brought up the topic, indicating that they had a stressful five weeks before WrestleMania, during which McCool was being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

After a heart scan in March, Calaway spent four nights in the hospital, where the doctor informed them that things could have turned out badly for the ex-wrestler if they had not discovered his issue when they did.

Calaway was discovered that he had Chronic Atrial Fibrillation (AFib); however, he didn’t demonstrate any notable symptoms. After a visit to the emergency room on a Friday night, Calaway would not stay the night and remained in AFib for the rest of the weekend, and returned to the hospital. McCool added that Calaway’s ejection fraction was around thirty percent, which is a measure of the blood pumped out of the left ventricle of the heart.

They stayed in the hospital for four days, and they had to “shock” his heart back to a regular rhythm, but that only lasted for 24-48 hours, and he was back in AFib.

The pair traveled to Las Vegas for McCool’s Hall of Fame induction, where Calaway inducted her, with Calaway undergoing a heart operation the day after they got home from Vegas.

McCool said it was all she could focus on during WrestleMania Weekend, but that Calaway is “good now”.
