Bronx residents try to keep cool in warm temps as summer approaches

Bronx residents geared up Thursday for what was predicted as the hottest day of the year so far – with some heading to local parks to get some reprieve.

“This weather is beautiful. I love getting out in this type of weather, said Tony. “Jog it out, sweat it out – I love it.”

Many Bronx residents enjoyed the warm weather by riding their bikes, taking a run or simply reading a book outdoors.

While summer is still days away, community members with respiratory or heart conditions are encouraged to stay aware of the current air quality and to limit their exposure outdoors.
