Angels at Orioles picks and predictions

Prediction

Angels 7, Orioles 4

BET ANGELS (+145).

It’s been a rough season for the Orioles, falling well short of preseason expectations. Baltimore sits in last place in the AL East and has struggled mightily at home with a 13-19 record at Camden Yards, including a 4-10 stretch over their last 14 games. A major issue has been pitching—they’ve posted a 5.00 ERA at home. While Morton is 2-0 in his last 3 outings, he began the year 0-7 and gave up 4 earned runs over just 2 1/3 innings in his last start—against the lowly A’s.

Meanwhile, the Angels are rolling, winning 5 of 6 games on their recent homestand. Kochanowicz has struggled lately, but already held Baltimore in check once this season. With the O’s reeling and the Angels trending up, getting Los Angeles at plus money on the run line looks like a strong play.

PASS.

No need to play with the run line when you are already getting plus odds on the moneyline.

AVOID.

My first instinct was to lean Over, especially with Morton’s tendency to allow runs. However, the total is set high at 10.5, which gives me pause. The Orioles have been trending Under, going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. With that in mind, I’m avoiding the total and sticking with a moneyline play instead.
