RM opens up about his mental health during the military
After being discharged, BTS RM held a solo live stream to directly interact with fans and connect with them after his discharge. Throughout the live, the singer discussed his experience in the military and how difficult it had been for him to cope with everything over the past 18 months.He shared how he suffered from mental health issues and insomnia, and how the act of sleeping itself has started to scare him. He detailed that “To be honest, I’m still scared of the night even now. I’m scared of the fact that I have to sleep. Lying down and being still for 3 to 4 hours is truly hell.”He continued that he had to go to a doctor to get medication to sleep properly. The leader of the group also pointed out how he was advised by his doctor that the issues may be occurring due to military, so to get better and lower his medication, RM has been trying to get back to his normal schedule. “To be honest, half of my diary is filled with my sleep problem story. Because I really couldn’t sleep,” he also added.

The article stated that “The period RM referred to—April 2023—was when tensions between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin were at their peak. At the time, HYBE launched an audit and filed a criminal complaint against Min for an alleged breach of trust regarding management control over ADOR.”
