This one was special enough to require a curtain call.

McCutchen hit his 241st home run with the Pittsburgh Pirates, moving past Hall of Fame right fielder and franchise icon Roberto Clemente for third place in franchise history. McCutchen now trails only Ralph Kiner (301) and Willie Stargell (475) among Pirates home runs leaders.

The 325th homer of McCutchen’s 17-year major league career came after Ke’Bryan Hayes hit a leadoff single and Oneil Cruz drew a full-count walk, as he hit a 405-foot shot on a 1-1 splitter by Marlins right-hander Cal Quantrill to give the Pirates a 4-0 lead with one out in the fifth inning.
