Can Jason fix this leak, too?
GTA VI gameplay has leaked online before Rockstar Games even gets a chance to release the third trailer.
When it comes to gameplay leaks, it doesn’t get as infamous as the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. Long before Rockstar Games released the first trailer for GTA VI in December 2023, gameplay leaks and details were making the social media rounds for months on end.
More recently, Rockstar Games released the highly anticipated second trailer for GTA VI, keeping fans waiting for well over a year for its arrival. But it was well worth the wait, it has to be said.

So, given that we’ve had two officially released trailers for GTA VI, you might think that the leaks could end. If you thought that, do you even know the internet?
A gameplay leak in particular shows one of GTA VI’s two protagonists, Jason (the other being Lucia), crawling across the ground. This might be a standard feature in franchises such as Call of Duty, but it’s a first for Grand Theft Auto.
Over the years, the Grand Theft Auto series has attempted to implement stealth missions with not a great deal of success.
To be fair, GTA is not a stealth series, but with the long-awaited addition of being able to crawl in GTA VI, it should make some stealth missions run a bit more smoothly, or so we thought.

“Leaked gameplay of the prone ability in GTA VI that was allegedly cut from the final game,” tweeted the Twitter page, ‘GTA 6 Countdown’, with a clip of Jason commando crawling.
If being able to crawl in GTA VI has been cut, I find that quite a baffling decision, as it appears to look fine in what seems to be a clip taken from a very early build of the game.
“This hurts, not gonna lie,” replied GTASixJoker.
“Why would they cut this? It would have added so much to stealth gameplay,” asked TC_UTD.
“This is an animated sequence likely for a cutscene. I don’t think there ever was a prone feature,” suggested heithyboi.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released on 26 May 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Will it allow us to crawl in the game? Only time will tell.
