The Harry Potter HBO series has taken another step forwards with a slew of cast additions.

Lox Pratt is slated to play Draco Malfoy, with Johnny Flynn as his father Lucius Malfoy. In more family castings, Bel Powley is set as Petunia Dursley and Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Harry’s aunt and uncle. Additionally, Katherine Parkinson will play Ron’s mom, Molly Weasley.
Cast as Hogwarts students are Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown.
They are among nine new cast members unveiled by HBO today alongside Bertie Carvel who, as Deadline revealed exclusively yesterday, will be playing minister for magic Cornelius Fudge.

The nine, which are believed to be recurring, join previously announced big hitters, adult leads John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
This followed the biggest casting of them all, the three young leads, who will be played by newcomers Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley) and Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger) in the HBO franchise that is set to run for a decade.
Cameras will start rolling soon at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK.

Hogwarts bully Draco Malfoy was played by Tom Felton in the films; Lucius Malfoy by Jason Isaacs. (Felton is reprising the role that made him famous in the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.) The Dursleys were played by Fiona Shaw (Petunia) and Richard Griffiths (Vernon) in the movies; Molly Weasley was portrayed by Julie Walters.
Harry Potter showrunner Francesca Gardinerthe revealed in December that the Dursleys will be much younger in the show than they were in the movies.
The series has been described as a “faithful adaptation” of the beloved books and is being exec produced by the source material’s author J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series, produced by HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. Rowling executive produces with Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
