Wang Cong improved to 3-1 in the Octagon on Saturday, competing on the undercard of UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey. The card is headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili.
Nicknamed ‘The Joker’, the Chinese fighter got the last laugh when she faced Ariane Lipski da Silva in a flyweight bout. Lipski da Silva missed weight by 6lbs and was fined 30% of her purse.
Despite her opponent’s weight miss, Wang Cong cashed in on a dominant decision victory against Lipski da Silva and then called out a familiar face in women’s MMA.

Cong Wang calls for Jessica Andrade after UFC 316 win
After facing three-straight Brazilians in the UFC, Wang Cong name-dropped former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade as a potential next opponent.
“Since I seem to have a [history] with Brazilian fighters, let’s go Jessica Andrade!” Wang Cong said in Chinese through a translator in her post-fight interview.
The heavy-handed Andrade has finishes across three weight divisions and has fought for the undisputed title four times.

Cong Wang defeated Valentina Shevchenko in her final kickboxing fight
Before she became a UFC contender, Wang Cong defeated current flyweight champion and pound-for-pound queen Valentina Shevchenko inside the kickboxing ring.
Weeks out from her UFC debut in 2015, Shevchenko fought Wang Cong at the Kunlun Fight 33 event in China.
A 23-year-old Cong Wang defeated Shevchenko via unanimous decision.
Years later, the kickboxing rivals will be several spots apart in the rankings, come Tuesday, leaving many to wonder if we’ll see a rematch between Wang Cong and Shevchenko at some point.
