The Brothers’ Starring Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, Al Pacino & More

EXCLUSIVE: Magenta Light Studios has acquired U.S. rights to Maserati: The Brothers, the new film chronicling the rise of Italy’s legendary Maserati family, with Oscar-winning Crash producer Bobby Moresco at the helm. The film enters a second and final phase of production in Rome this month, with a fall theatrical release targeted.

The plan is for the movie to hit more than 2,000 screens in the U.S. and Canada and more than 450 across Italy and Spain.

Maserati: The Brothers follows the remarkable legacy of the Maserati family, automotive pioneers who helped shape the luxury sports car industry. News of the distribution deal comes following the recent addition to the cast of The Godfather‘s Al Pacino, who will play Vincenzo Vaccaro, a key early investor and supporter of the Maserati dynasty.

Others in the ensemble include Anthony Hopkins (The Father), Andy Garcia (Landman), Jessica Alba (Trigger Warning), Michele Morrone (The Housemaid), and Salvatore Esposito (Den of Thieves 2: Pantera), as well as Maya Talem (The Goat), Gina La Piana (Intentional), and Tatiana Luter (Youth).

C.J. Vranca, Head of Business & Legal Affairs, repped Magenta Light in the deal, with pic’s producer Gary Michael Walters (Whiplash, Nightcrawler) of Walters Media Group arranging the deal and negotiating on behalf of The Andrea Iervolino Company.

Best known for releasing JT Mollner’s acclaimed cat-and-mouse thriller Strange Darling, starring Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner, Magenta Light Studios is next set to release the Rebel Wilson action comedy Bride Hard on June 20. Also on the company’s upcoming slate is Renny Harlin’s Deep Water, starring Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley. Currently, they’re in post on Ed Kaplan’s Summerhouse, starring Malcolm McDowell and Jacob Ward.
