The United States Men’s National Team take the field this afternoon for their first test before the start of the 2025 Gold Cup as they take on Türkiye in a friendly in East Hartford. The USMNT are without several of their main stars in what is the final summer of competition before the 2026 World Cup is here. The USMNT look to come out with a renewed vigor to show they have learned from their performances in the past couple of tournaments where they didn’t show well. After failing to get out of the group in the 2024 Copa América and finishing last at the 2025 Concacaf Nations League Finals, the pressure is on for the USMNT to show improvement and an increased sense of urgency on the field.
They take on a Türkiye squad that has a couple of friendlies before taking the summer off to prepare for World Cup qualifying this fall. They’re looking to make the World Cup for the first time since 2002 and just the third time in their history. The USMNT hope to get back to the business of winning as well as showing the improvement necessary to begin inspiring fans again in a crucial summer.
