Two Asian prospects look to make a statement here. At the very
least, Saragih has made history as the first UFC fighter to come
out of a burgeoning Indonesian scene, getting signed despite losing
the “Road to UFC” lightweight final in 2023. Saragih has some clear
strengths – namely the fact that he hits like a truck – but he is
attempting to keep his head above water while developing a game
that has generally been undercooked for the UFC level. When things
come together, like in his lone UFC win against Lucas
Alexander, Saragih can put together a quick and brutal
knockout, but his other two fights under the UFC banner have shown
his potential pitfalls, with him getting out-wrestled by Anshul
Jubli and quickly submitted by Westin
Wilson. Undefeated Korean prospect Yoo looks to avoid eating a
knockout here, as he makes his UFC debut opposite Saragih. Yoo’s a
solid athlete with a fairly straight-ahead game that involves a
good bit of wrestling at points, which all points to a clear path
to victory against Saragih. It’s still a risky affair, as Yoo
doesn’t jump out as the type of opponent guaranteed to avoid
getting hit by such a power puncher, but the UFC newcomer turning
this into a grind and eventual finish appears to be the safest bet
unless Saragih has made some rapid improvements; the pick is Yoo
via second-round submission.
