Brommapojkarna return to action on Sunday aiming to end a dismal run of form in the early stages of their Swedish Allsvenskan campaign.

A four-match unbeaten run across April and early May left them on 10 points from six outings after a 10th-placed finish last time around, but BP have since suffered five straight losses.

Each of those defeats have come by a single-goal margin, firstly losing 1-0 to Halmstad and Mjallby either side of a seven-goal thriller away at Elfsborg in which the hosts came out as 4-3 winners.

Ulf Kristiansson‘s side have since fallen to another pair of 1-0 losses on the bounce, falling to AIK last weekend and Djurgardens IF on Thursday, as Tobias Gulliksen netted the only goal of the game in the 19th minute.

Now heading into their third straight game at Grimsta IP in 12th spot and still with just 10 points on the board from 11 games, Brommapojkarna will hope to end their slump on Sunday and get back to winning ways.

Their visitors, meanwhile, make the trip on Sunday in search of a third straight victory, having bounced back from a tough run of their own in recent weeks.

After only finishing above the relegation playoff place on goals scored last season, IFK Goteborg have enjoyed a pleasing start to their 2025 Allsvenskan campaign, earning 16 points from their first 11 outings.

The Blavitt’s early momentum was halted by a four-match winless run including three straight defeats in early May, but they have since bounced back in impressive fashion, firstly returning to winning ways by beating Degerfors 3-1 away from home thanks to Tobias Heintz‘s brace and Max Fenger‘s goal.

Now sitting sixth thanks to their back-to-back victories, three points behind fifth-placed Malmo with a game in hand, IFK Goteborg will aim to keep building momentum and record a third straight triumph on Sunday.

Brommapojkarna will remain without Nikola Vasic, Rasmus Orqvist, Liam Jordan and Liam Tahwildaran on Sunday as they are still confined to the treatment room.

Ezekiel Alladoh should continue to spearhead the attack, having netted a team-high tally of five goals so far this season, while Anton Kurochkin may return on the wing from the outset having scored four of his own in eight appearances thus far.

Daleho Irandust offers further support through the centre of a 4-2-3-1 setup, while Serge-Junior Ngouali and Kevin Ackermann will both hope to keep their places at the base of the midfield.

Goteborg will field a similar starting XI from their midweek win over Malmo, with goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg remaining out of action through injury alongside Lucas Kahed and Arbnor Mucolli.

There is one enforced change, though, with August Erlingmark subject to a one-match ban, meaning Jonas Bager may join veteran Gustav Svensson at the heart of a back four, while Elis Bishesari will continue between the sticks in Dahlberg’s absence.

Max Fenger will continue to lead the line, having netted nine goals so far this season including six in 11 Allsvenskan appearances, while Eman Markovic and Tobias Heintz should also keep their places in attack.

Brommapojkarna possible starting lineup:
Blazevic; Andersson, Karlsson, Hovland, Christensen; Ngouali, Ackermann; Kurochkin, Irandust, Jakobsen; Alladoh

IFK Goteborg possible starting lineup:
Bishesari; Eriksson, Svensson, Bager, Tolf; Thordarson, Kruse, Jagne; Markovic, Fenger, Heintz

We say: Brommapojkarna 0-1 IFK Goteborg

Although they have not been on the wrong end of thrashings, we would not be surprised to see Brommapojkarna again fall short in a tight contest, given their recent slump and the improvement of the visitors.
